Been a DJ since I was 20, but it goes back so much further for me. I grew up listening to the radio. I owe this to my dad because wherever he was, there was a radio on. Music has been a part of my entire life. Heavily influenced by radio from listening to club mixshows starting from Power 104 KRBE's Saturday Night Power Mix live from The Ocean Club and KKBQ's Club 6400 live on 93Q every Saturday and Sunday night. I was hooked!.... and I was recording it every weekend. Totally fascinated by the mixing and the music had a feel and an energy that nothing else I had listened to before had. I wanted to do it too. I got a job at Radio Shack, saved my money and bought my own equipment.. (some of it was also "borrowed"... no not from Radio Shack) I've been djing ever since. I love it, it's a huge part of my identity and can't imagine not ever being able to play - from my myspace page

  My interest in the club scene started for me when I was 7 years old when I saw Saturday Night Fever. First dance club experience was at 16 when my best friend took me to a teen club called Visions on Fondren. The first real club I went to was Numbers on Westheimer for a Book of Love show that same year. It was the first time I saw the infamous Numbers video edit of Lucifer's Friend by Visions, Shriekback's Nemesis, and the one that changed my life.... Musique Non-Stop by Kraftwerk. That was the freakiest video I had ever seen and the wierdest song I had ever heard but it stuck with me and before I knew it I was out buying Electric Cafe on cassette.... and my love for the music grew from there.

No never heard back. I've got a few more Lounge broadcasts. I don't have a computer at home still to where I can upload more of my tapes. I've been wanting to. It sux because I havent been able to add to my page. I also have my airchecks site that needs serious updating and I cant right now.

Hi, can you post your email so I can get in touch with you. I think you would wanna talk to me. I was a Dj at 6400 and at numbers. I then moved on to NYC and Dj'd there for years. I do not Dj anymore but i had all those mix tapes and my GF stole them from me when we broke up.

Rage, are you talking about the 6400 mix I have on my home page player? If so yes, I've had that on tape for over 20 years. Among others on my page as well., Detour, Netwerk. All over 20 years now.

Xcess did have a short lived show on 93Q in late 1988, it was called Radio Free Xcess. I want to say it was on on Wednesday nights. I happened to stumble on it one night flipping through the radio dial. Even taped a few minutes of the show to have some sort of record of it but have no idea what happened to it since. I dont know if it was live or taped but Xcess did try to have some presence on the radio then.

Hey Rage: Would the Radio station or whom ever owned it at the time, keep copies of all the stuff they aired?
